Stay home and sell safely on eBay with Contact Free Selling and Postage

eBay is continuing to monitor global developments and what it means for our community of sellers and buyers.

We understand each and every Australian is impacted in different ways and are committed to doing everything we can to provide an opportunity for everyone to sell online.

For private sellers, this could mean clearing out or selling items you don’t need to supplement the loss of income. Other doors may be closing, but eBay is open and is the best place to sell online during these uncertain times.

In this guide, we’ll show you how you can safely sell online from the comfort of your home through a 100% Contact Free Selling and Postage experience.

Post items safely from your home

On eBay, you can list, sell and post to your buyer safely, without leaving home.

We have partnered with Sendle to offer their pick-up service as a safe postage option. Here’s how it works:

  1. Once your item sells, click “Print Postage Label” in My eBay
  2. Select 'Sendle Parcel Delivery Collection'. You will confirm a date and address for the pick up.
  3. Print and stick the label on the packaged item and place it at your front door on the day of pick up.
  4. Sendle will pick up your item from your front door and it will be sent to the buyer.

This is the new way to sell and post items. Learn More

Items that attempt to capitalise on the pandemic

We love that you can buy anything on eBay during times of need. Maintaining a safe and fair marketplace for our buyers and sellers during this time is our number one priority.

We won't tolerate sellers who may be listing items that attempt to capitalise on the pandemic - especially toilet paper, face masks and hand sanitiser. Our local and international teams are working around the clock and taking every step to crack down on listings that break our rules.

However, as eBay is Australia's largest online marketplace - with 1.4 billion global listings to keep on top of - it can be challenging to control. If something doesn't look right, we ask you to report it, so that we can continue to make eBay a safe and fair marketplace.

Changes to eBay Customer Support

We are making some small changes to how we provide customer support to you.

Under new guidance from health authorities, we won’t be able to offer customer support over the phone until further notice. However, our support team will be available as usual through our customer service online chat function.

If you have any questions or issues you can visit our help pages, which contain information and answers to frequently asked questions. We appreciate your patience with any customer service delays that may occur during this time.
